Jacob Talbot is a multidisciplinary artist working across analogue and digital photography, expanded into fine-art, multimedia works. His practice incorporates sculpture, interactive installation, and natural processes to physically realise conceptual ideas, often blurring the boundaries between image, object, and environment.

A First Class Honours graduate of BA Photography from Leeds Arts University (2021), Talbot’s work has rapidly gained the attention of collectors and curators internationally. His debut solo exhibition, An Isolated State (funded by Leeds Inspired) marked a foundational starting point for his practice, establishing his use of interactive installation to challenge traditional distinctions between photography and sculpture while engaging audiences through immersive experience. During the development of this exhibition, Talbot was awarded The Signature Art Prize.

Since then, Talbot has gone on to commercially exhibit and sell photographic and sculptural works through galleries at art fairs across the UK, Europe, America, and Asia, building a strong international collector base. His work has been selected for The British Consulate-General Pavilion in Hong Kong, and he has been invited to create public sculptures for multiple art trails.

His conceptual practice has been exhibited in numerous group exhibitions nationally and internationally, including a large-scale banner installation at Rotterdam Photo, selected works in a contemporary photography exhibition in Seoul, being one of ten shortlisted artists for the BBA One Shot Award in Berlin, and most recently being shortlisted for the Aesthetica Art Prize.

Alongside his exhibition practice, Talbot was solo commissioned by Kirkstall Abbey to produce The Labyrinth, a large-scale public installation created as part of the Mindfulness Festival, further expanding his engagement with public space, site-specific work, and audience interaction.

Alongside his studio practice, Talbot has served as Head Curator of BANG Galleries since 2021, a contemporary branch of the established Linda Blackstone Gallery. In this role, he curates and supports emerging artists within a competitive commercial gallery context.
